Tentatively scheduled BA Planning Meeting for all Committee Heads and
Volunteers – Open to everyone!
Future meetings to be announced.
* Registration - Janet Mohn - help with entry registration table, name tags,
selling t-shirts, directing people to exhibits, welcoming guests.
* Memorial - Melody Johnson Baker - volunteer to scan, research, set up
displays, directing people at the exhibits to find the year or person they
seek, collecting information from guests.
* Memorabilia - Debra Harris Johnson - will need muscle to carry unpack and
repack her exhibit, security to guard area, directing people at the exhibits
to find the year or person they seek, collecting information from guests
about artifacts.
* Pep Band - Katie Marks Windsor - if you can play an instrument you need to
contact Katie to get into the Pep Band. If you can't make it this year maybe
you can start practicing for next year!
* Performance - Mindy Keeling - they are close to firming up this year's
performance but if you have a talent you would like to perform, talk to
Mindy about being included. Or maybe you would like to be an usher or ticket
taker.
* SO MUCH MORE!!!
MOST IMPORTANTLY YOU CAN SPREAD THE WORD TO EVERYONE YOU KNOW!!!! YOU WILL
BE SURPRISED HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE CONNECTED THE MARYVALE IN SOME WAY!!!!

BA Meeting June 28, 2003

In attendance: Karen Bonine, Melody Johnson, Janet Mohn, and LeeAnn Sharpe
Agenda
Review last year’s finances – we have roughly $600 in the checking account.
Two scholarships have been funded and 3 more will bring account down to $150
- $110 of which is for the recipe book prepaid orders. T-Shirt Inventory is
posted online and valued about $1200, which can be used next year with paw
print over old date.

Need to know in-kind donations to get full accounting of last year expenses.
Dave & Guy – web hosting donations, Melody, Mindy, Debra, Janet, LeeAnn all
need to report your areas. Anyone else who donated services please report.

Dates for future BA – 2004 tentative April 5 can not be confirmed until we
meet with new MHS Principal. All agree the BA needs a rest after 2004
|

If we do the April 5th date and link to Pullano’s evening gathering, the
performance may need to move earlier to get a larger audience
|
 |
Committee heads – all major stay the same – need to recruit more help for
other committees.
|
 |
Long Range Goals – Scholarships are top priority. Need to grow to manage
more than we are right now.
|
 |
Alumni Association - may be a means for growth. Can be structured to include
alumni across the country. May embrace more than the BA alone could do. AA &
BA should be one organization with branches working toward common goals.

 |
Website – need more updates, no one wants fees to access, reestablish
message board – Guy already has done! Discuss need for more space needed
soon – maybe place Memorial on it’s own domain and link.

Student Involvement – encourage scholarship recipients to help as well as
clubs.
|

LeeAnn will keep a list of who send when. Break up Classmate & Reunion
mailings by year. Anyone mailing should report to who and when. List can be
posted on website. This will help prevent duplication of efforts and
coverage of widest range of alumni.

Lauren wants to begin Classmate mailings. She will write a draft of email to
be sent, and Melody will bring to August meeting for comments.

Committee needs: Melody Memorial needs 800sq feet of bulletin boards – ask
district. Also need helpers the month before.

Katie wants us all to look at the link to her class site for info on a
cruise they are coordinating for all MHS Alumni!

Big Adventure Meetings
March 21st, Papadeaux Restaurant 8PM
Katie Windsor Marks and several of her classmates who had not attended the
BA.
Concern over lack of attendance at 2003 BA.
Enthusiasm over Band performance – They were great!! And Mrs. Williams and
other faculty attendance well received, and Grapes of Wrath were wonderful
again!! Displays were fantastic Memorial and Memoribelia super well
received.
Those present who had not attended would liked to have attended but had
higher priority obligations.

open All needs are requested through Mindy. She will be at the school again
Thursday 2PM. She has already requested all we had last year. Will get more
tables at Registration 4 tables and 20 chairs. Also trying for music stands
and chairs.

Clubs Booths - Mindy has passed info to Kelly in MHS office who is having
clubs call Mindy. Ocean's Club should be there again. They raised $500 last
year. Decca Store will be open and they may be source for us to get
t-shirts. Mindy w/call Dennis Nowak to contact Steve at the Decca Store.

Mindy brought last reports. No changes.
LeeAnn has returned check from one scholarship recipient who went into the
Air Force instead of college. It is being returned to our funds at UNITE. We
are asking them to transfer all funds into a separate account for the BA.
